ANGELS OF LOVE was established in 1997 by Rick and Sally Cryder. Rick’s dream was to create a ministry that made stained-glass Angels that were freely given to bring encouragement, love, hope, peace, and comfort to people during difficult circumstances—whether grieving the loss of a family member or suffering from a serious illness, disability, or tragedy.
These beautiful stained-glass, gold-plated Angels take approximately three hours to make. Their beauty is matched by the generous hearts of the volunteers who donate their time, talent, and material resources to the Angels of Love Ministry.
Our ministry is very small and our funding and volunteer base is very limited, so unfortunately we can only make one angel per family. Thank you for understanding.
Presidents Call To Service Award
May 23, 2008
On July 13, 2007, many of the volunteers of Angels of Love gathered at the Orange County Sheriff's office to be presented with the President’s Call to Service Award from President George W. Bush. This award is given to volunteers who have worked in excess of 4,000 volunteer hours.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Due to the extremely limited manpower of Angels of Love and the huge economic downturn, we have had to make some difficult decisions about our ministry. We have a very limited number of angels to give, so we have had to make some boundaries as to who we are able to give an angel to.
We have decided that right now our priority will be getting angels to:
- The families of the military personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty
- The families of Law Enforcement & Fire Fighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty
- Children and adults who have cancer and other life threatening illnesses who live in California
Thank you for your understanding. This has been a very tough decision to make. Our goal has always been to grow our ministry and we would love to be able to make an angel for everyone who is hurting and sick, however we cannot do that.
Please pray for our ministry - that it will be Blessed with an exceptional amount of donations and that we will be Blessed with many new volunteers, especially those with stained glass experience - so they can help us assemble the angels.
We are very sorry for every family that we are not able to reach at this time. We always pray for everyone who receives an angel and for everyone that needs one, even if we aren't able to give them one.
May God Bless You.
Sincerely,
Rick and Sally Cryder

We have received many letters and emails from people over the years who have either received an Angel of Love or who have worked with the Angels of Love program.

"My experience at St. Joseph's Hospital was fun. Since I had went once before, I wasn't nervous and the day went well. I was able to speak to a lady that spoke vietnamese and give her and Angel. I felt bad because I don't know how to help the cancer patients feel better. We went room to room, patient to patient and every time we left the room I would pray that the cancer patient would feel better. I also prayed when I handed the Angel to the patients as well. It made me feel good that I actually made some on happy. Rick told me that you can see the difference we make. When we went into the patient's room they would look sad, but when we told them where we came from and why we were there, they became happy, some with tears. When I see them happy, I'm happy for them. Eddie and I put smiles on our faces and tried to make the patient feel really special. This experience made me feel good about myself."
